FooBio is a biology learning App. It focuses on learning to recognize foot plants and helps you discover new exotic food.
Get Access to thousands of photos and improve your diet by discovering new things to eat and learn about your foods and ingredients. Enjoy topics like tropical fruits, the worlds leading food crops, edible seaweeds, nuts, vegetables, salad greens and much more.

Advanced users are welcome to create their own list of species and share them with the community or upload their own photos. Find instructions to do this on my website nameitapp.org

The species description text and images come from different sources like Wikipedia, Flicker and some major universities that publish their data under creative common licence.

The learning algorithm is based on the 5 boxes Leitner system. After the download all items are in the first box. Using the the green button moves them to the next box. Use the green button when you successfully recognize one item. If you hit the red button the item goes back into the previous box. Items come up randomly and the probability for an item to be shown declines with the higher boxes.
For every species 3 images and one description text are downloaded.

If you are an expert and find somer errors or bad images you are very welcome to register at eol.org and help improve the quality of the data by taking part in the review process.

You can add your own pictures by uploading them to Flickr and share them with the encyclopedia of life, eol.org. After a review process the pictures will be available in the App.
